Here are some reviews from our valued customers!

"You can't beat the atmosphere's like you're in Germany! Christmas lights adorn the dining room, there's all kind of kitsch on the walls and on the shelves, and there's live music...a guy jammin' out German favorites on his accordian. The food and service are above average too! G/F and I stopped in on a recent Saturday night. We were seated right away, real close to the aforementioned accordian player. The menu choices are many. We started off by sharing the smoked salmon on toast was VERY good! A nice portion of tender smoked salmon accompanied by some greens, some red onion, toast points, and cream cheese. Two of these platters would make for a nice meal. But you must have a main course. I had the Edelweiss platter...a variety of their sausage and meats from their menu, kraut, and spaetzel on the side. I chose this because I really couldn't decide on just ONE item from the menu, so why not try a bit of this and that? The g/f had the weinerschnitzel, and true to form, we shared a bit of each other's orders. Hers was very good...and was the most appealing of the schnitzel choices on the menu, in my opinion. There's a decent beer and wine selection, but if you're adventurous, try one of the lambics...a Belgian beer-like beverage infused with a fruit. I chose black cherry and it was AWESOME! A perfect drink to go with a heavy German-style meal. The intense black cherry flavor went well with my meal. Our waitress was very friendly and fun. Great place for birthday parties. And there was a bachelor party there that night too. All in all, a great night out. Danke Schoen!" -Dave R, Northbrook, IL (

"I am FULL. I ordered the Edelweiss Platte, which includes bratwurst, knockwurst, spaetzle, red cabbage, saurkraut, smoked ham, pork, some beef roll, and some other meat and I ate half of everything. We shared a strudel, which was the best strudel I have ever had. GREAT FOOD! And the live band was great too. -Dylan D. Melrose Park, IL (

"Excellent traditional dishes; friendly services. Unbearably amplified entertainment on weekends."-Patty B. (

"Here's a very famous restaurant that many locals and visitors alike really enjoy. They serve up traditional German/Austrian cuisine, have a cozy, charming decor with stained glass windows, a fireplace and an old world feel. The servers are wearing authentic costumes, and some nights you'll get to enjoy the house band featuring fun and comical musicians, which really adds a nice feel to the evening. The food is very good and the people who work here are friendly and seem to enjoy what they do. Free parking, Irving Park bus stops at the door. On certain Holidays, they feature American menu items as well as the traditional German cuisine." -Patricia B Chicago, IL (
